MESA COUNTY, CO – The Mesa County Coroner’s office has determined that a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 70 near the Utah state line on July 20 was an intentional act. The incident involved a Subaru Outback and a Ford F-150.

The 32-year-old female driver of the Subaru Outback, who was traveling the wrong way on I-70, died as a result of the collision. The coroner’s ruling classified her death as intentional.

The other vehicle involved, a Ford F-150, was being driven by a 40-year-old male. He sustained serious injuries in the crash. In addition to the driver of the F-150, five passengers were also seriously injured. Among these passengers were two minors.
