SpotOn, a leading restaurant technology company, today shared highlights from the second quarter of 2026 including product innovation, customer growth, and expanded partnerships aimed at helping restaurant owners and operators run more profitable, better-connected businesses.
Independent restaurants kept finding ways to grow in the second quarter, and SpotOn’s investments were built to back that momentum: tools that put more cash in operators’ hands faster, AI that tells them what to do next instead of just what already happened, and guest-facing features that make it easier to bring diners back without adding work for already-busy teams.
Product innovation: from proactive AI to faster cash to a better guest experience
SpotOn introduced a wide set of new capabilities across its restaurant management system and financial services suite in the second quarter, focused on giving operators more control over their money, their margins, and their guest relationships.
- SpotOn Profit AI: SpotOn launched an always-on AI product built to surface the insights most likely to move a restaurant’s bottom line, before operators even think to ask. Built on SpotOn’s connected portfolio, including the point-of-sale, Reserve, Teamwork, and Profit Assist, and third-party data, SpotOn Profit AI moves beyond descriptive reporting to proactively tell operators what’s happening in their business and what to do about it. Current clients are already taking advantage of SpotOn Profit AI, with general availability planned by year-end 2026.
- Rapid Fund: SpotOn expanded its financial services suite with Rapid Fund, which moves card deposits into an operator’s bank account in under 30 minutes after batching out, any day of the year, at a cost up to 88% lower than major competitors. For operators managing tight cash flow, that means access to their own revenue on nights, weekends, and holidays, without waiting on standard ACH settlement timelines.
- SpotOn Capital: SpotOn Capital gives owners and operators restaurant business loans with a simple application, fast approvals, and automated repayment drawn from daily sales with fixed fees and transparent pricing. For loans converted from competitors above $10,000, SpotOn offered rates that were 35% cheaper on average than SpotOn competitors. Parafin’s underwriting evaluates real business performance rather than just a credit score, extending access to newer and smaller restaurants that are often underserved by traditional lenders.
- Text Message Marketing: SpotOn added text messaging as a new delivery channel across its marketing suite, working alongside SpotOn Loyalty trigger-based deals and the campaign creator. SMS carries a 98% open rate, compared with 20% to 30% for email, and is typically read in under three minutes, giving operators a higher-converting way to reach guests directly.
- OpenTable integration: SpotOn and OpenTable launched a bi-directional integration. When a host seats a guest in OpenTable, an open check can be automatically created in SpotOn POS with full guest context, and check status syncs back to OpenTable in real time as the table turns, closing automatically once the check is paid.
- Faster reordering on SpotOn Order and the GoTo Place app: Guests can now reorder their favorite item combinations in one tap. When a guest reopens a menu item they’ve ordered before, their past customizations surface automatically, letting them add it to their bag without re-selecting every modifier.
- Mobile Pay & Review: SpotOn expanded their guest payment solutions to help restaurants gather feedback and reviews before the guest leaves. With Mobile Pay & Review, restaurants get access to table-specific placards or receipt-based QR codes, letting guests pay directly from their phone – no server required – and leave a review in the process. Built for high-volume, full-service restaurants, the feature is designed to drive ratings, reduce table turn time, and free up staff to focus on service instead of card processing.
“This quarter was about giving operators back time and money, whether that’s Profit AI proactively serving up insights, before they have to ask or guest tools that bring diners back without adding another thing to their plate,” said Bryan Solar, Chief Product Officer at SpotOn. “Independent operators are stretched thin enough, we’re focused on designing SpotOn technology to carry more of that weight.”
New restaurant clients
Restaurant owners and operators across concepts and markets continued to bring their business onto SpotOn’s connected platform in the second quarter, choosing SpotOn for the visibility, control, and support it takes to run a restaurant profitably in a difficult environment. Among the operators who joined SpotOn in Q2 2026:
- Sweet Chick (New York, NY) built a following in New York on chicken and waffles, quickly growing across the Lower East Side, Williamsburg, and Prospect Heights, as well as Los Angeles. Running multiple high-volume restaurants means the front and back of house need to move together, which is why the team relies on SpotOn’s restaurant management system to keep orders, staff, and reporting in sync across every location.
- Francie (Brooklyn, NY) earned a Michelin star for chef Christopher Cipollone’s take on a neighborhood brasserie in Williamsburg, where the Crown Roast of Duck is a must-order. A restaurant operating at that level can’t afford friction at the table or in the kitchen, so Francie counts on SpotOn’s platform to keep service tight during a packed Friday night.
- Dolores But You Can Call Me Lolita (Miami, FL) has spent nearly two decades building a reputation as one of Miami’s landmark dining rooms, most recently winning Miami New Times’ 2025 Best Restaurant. Operators there use SpotOn’s point-of-sale to manage a menu, a rooftop bar, and a steady flow of guests without slowing operations.
- Terzo (San Francisco, CA) Is a cozy Modern Mediterranean Cow Hollow fixture neighborhood staple. Terzo is the kind of place regulars keep coming back to for the wine list as much as the food. SpotOn’s restaurant management system gives the owners the day-to-day reporting they need to keep that consistency going, service after service.
- TuCandela Bar (Miami, FL) For more than 15 years, TuCandela Bar has stood as an icon of Miami’s nightlife and one of the city’s most recognized Latin entertainment destinations. Celebrated for its electrifying atmosphere, premium cocktails, exceptional VIP bottle service, and unforgettable guest experiences, TuCandela welcomes thousands of patrons seeking the best of Miami’s nightlife. Serving a high-volume clientele requires speed, precision, and flawless execution—qualities supported by SpotOn’s POS platform, which enables their team to deliver seamless service while driving operational excellence and continued growth.
Expanded partnerships and distribution
SpotOn also deepened its partner ecosystem in the second quarter, extending its reach to more restaurant owners and operators through distribution and foodservice partners.
- Gordon Food Service: SpotOn welcomed new restaurant clients alongside Gordon Food Service and their Back of House Program, including Gorditas El Milagro, Mile Creek Tavern, and The Masters Restaurant, giving these operators the efficiency, financial clarity, and new revenue streams that come with a more connected tech stack.
Looking ahead
Heading into the second half of 2026, SpotOn is staying focused on the priorities that shaped the quarter: building AI that understands what operators need before they ask, giving restaurants faster and more flexible access to their own money, and technology that helps operators bring diners back without piling more onto an already full workload.
“For restaurant operators, the back half of the year usually means tighter margins and less patience for guesswork,” said Zach Hyman, Founder and CEO of SpotOn. “Restaurants need a partner that gets sharper alongside them: AI that helps operators make profit-driving decisions faster, financial tools that put cash in their hands even faster, and more ways to bring guests back through the door. The restaurants that lean into this kind of support are going to come out of this year stronger. That’s the kind of restaurant industry we’re building toward.”
